How teeth whitening works

Teeth whitening is a painless oral treatment used to lighten up the shade of your teeth. For a person who is in need or is demanding for this procedure is advised to take a dental visit atleast once for proper guidance from the dentists. In this procedure your gums are protected with a rubber shield or a gel by the dental crew and then bleaching is done which is the most manual method of teeth whitening. Your mouth is protected from the whitening product using a barrier in the form of a mouthguard. Initially any kind of plaque is removed from the surface of the teeth to carry on the further procedure. The whitening product include either Hydrogen Peroxide or Carbamide as it’s chief constituent .It is this Peroxide which acts as an oxidizing agent and is able to penetrate through the porosities.

Intake of Pigmented items such as wine, coffee, cola etc is advised to be avoided for minimum 24 hrs after the above mentioned procedure to prevent the teeth from further tinting.
